I am a physician specializing in gastroenterology, the field of digestive diseases. I keep my medical records simplys as PDF files. Automated backups are done with rsync. Next comes automated report generation and interfacing with the RDBMS that my billing system is migrating to.
My initial programming experience was at Glenbrook South High School from 1972 to 1976 where I programmed a PDP-8/L. In college at Northwestern University I got to work on the CDC 6400 and the CDC 6600 at the Vogleback Computer Center. Seeing the shift from mainframe to desktop has been quite interesting. |
