As long as it's rock solid!
I voted for March (and it's not because of Rob ;))
Hopefully it will be sooner if (and only if) it's ready but my bet is that they targeted a date that won't make them look bad if it's delayed... Like for Leopard... ;)
Snow Leopard release date
I voted for september 2009.
Each apple major release takes on average 28% more days to release than the previous. X.3 took 427d from X.2 X.4 took 553d from X.3 X.5 took 702d from X.4 so, in my cristal ball I predict 901 days from X.5 release, which will fall aproximately in november 18/2009
Snow Leopard
I wonder if certain months would get better sales if they released it then. It's not like an iPod that would sell well around christmas or anything, but still.
The real question though is how much will it cost? If there really aren't any new deal breaking features like spotlight or time machine, then what will encourage people to buy if it costs the same as previous releases? Personally, I'm hoping that they either lied about the no new features thing, or that it is less than $50, and at least less than $100.
If they release it, will you buy?
But how many "regular" Mac users will pay $129 for an OS with what seems to have few new features? I'd pay more than that for greater stability and speed, but will others?
re:If they release it, will you buy?
mmm the whole 64 bit thing is why I'm gonna buy it!
