Yeah, this was one of the top major fixes in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Upgrading to 10.5 will take care of this problem.

Its not a full fix because I certainly still have the problem. I'll test this next time it happens. Cheers

I'm using 10.5.2 and I still occasionally have this problem, when connected to a NAS on my local network.

Since it's a wired connection, I unplug the ethernet cable for the same "fix."
