This hint is not quite correct. When I press Command-F the second time I am taken to my startup volume. I think the setting depends on the Finder Preferences and what you have "New Finder windows open:" set to. Mine is set to "Computer" and since "This Mac" means "Computer" my guess is the second Command-F is translated to the startup volume.

When I changed my Finder Preference to have new Finder windows open onto my Home folder, my result corresponded to this hint.

If you look closely at the line just under the toolbar where the file list will be, you will see a subtle change from the first Command-F to the second Command-f.

The first Command-f shows:
Search: This Mac {folder you were in before the command-f} | Contents File Name

The second Command-f shows:
Search: This Mac {user folder name} | Contents File Name

That's the only change, when you first hit Command-f, if you "Computer" checked in your sidebar, you will see your Computer highlighted. This stays this way when you hit the Command-f a second time.

It's not obvious, but if you watch the window closely when you hit Command-f once then twice, you will see the difference.
