actually my problem isn't with the search bar but behavior with the right click menu. Often times I want to search something else that I have up in a browser window. I can select the text right click and select search in google.

In firefox it automatically opens up in a new tab. In safari it opens in the existing window. Is there anyway to force safari to open google searches in a new tab?

I have just completely missed it?

open in new tab in safari: select text, apple+right-click, search in google
