Or better yet, install the bash-completion package from macports and then add the following to your .bashrc:

if [ -f /opt/local/etc/bash_completion ]; then

. /opt/local/etc/bash_completion

fi

This gives a variety of neat additions, including ssh, ping, ftp, tar, etc.
