The Newer Tech wireless options seem to only work on the congested 2.4Ghz spectrum and not 5Ghz. Airport N Cards and the Airport Extreme N routers have this option and for me 5Ghz is faster.

Seems like this might be okay if you have old devices connected to your B/G/N network in the slower 2.4Ghz mode. But YMMV if you want to get full wireless N speed.
