Somewhat off topic, but people reading this would probably find this Kanji to Hiragana converter useful.

Mac OS X provides this service as well; if you're in a Japanese input mode and select a bunch of text, you can reverse-convert it with Control-Shift-R (a shortcut in the Japanese section of the input menu). Unfortunatetly this only works for editable text and goes one word at a time, so the tool mentioned here might still be useful.
