Make Matlab Dock icon disappear in -nojvm mode

Yes but why bother with MATLAB (expensive, horribly implemented on mac, broken with Leopard) when there is a more powerful, free, actively maintained, open source alternative: Scipy/matplotlib/IPython?

broken with leopard??

I use matlab everyday (running numerical experiments with 2 dimensional custom special meshes for a bunch of singularly perturbed elliptic and parabolic problems) and it's working beautifully in Leopard (10.5.2) on my 2.4Ghz macbook pro. What specifically is broken with Leopard?

Don't know. And I don't intend to figure out either! :-) (If you want to know, it is a problem with MATLAB71/bin/mac/libTIFF.dylib). I never use MATLAB anymore anyway so I will probably ditch it altogether.

My point was: if you have problems with MATLAB, why not trying something free, elegant and open source? No license server, much easier to bind existing or new C or Fortran code, a real programming language (python), tensor algebra, cool slicing techniques (broadcasting), etc. etc.
