10.5: Change Time Machine settings with Lingon
On my system (10.5.2) the launchd plists controlling Time Machine are a little different -- perhaps it's something Apple changed in the latest update.
To adjust the time interval of Time Machine backups, you go into the com.apple.backupd-auto plist as you write, but to change the setting to run Time Machine when a volume is mounted, there is a separate plist in System Daemons: com.apple.backupd-attach. Drew
Thanks
I just checked the System Daemons in Lingon. The com.apple.backupd-attach has a default time of midnight checked. So I checked my Time Machine backups and have been getting two backups: one at midnight from com.apple.backupd-attach and one at 4am from com.apple.backupd-auto.
I suppose the instructions need to altered to: 1) Download and Install Lingon. |
