Avoid key presses when in Exposé's Show Desktop mode
Authored by: earthsaver on Thu, Feb 7 2008 at 11:05AM PST
Sure, and this would never be application-specific. It happens because when Exposé Show Desktop is invoked, the current active application/window remains active. Exposé is in this case just another screen view mode, not a separate application becoming active. I guess it'd be cool if the Finder became active and the previous application returned to focus when Exposé was released, but I think there are other reasons this isn't the case. To change focus to the Desktop/Finder you of course have to click it or something on it. When you release Exposé, the Finder remains active until you switch to another application. Or, you can use the application switcher or Dock to switch to an particular app immediately.

Avoid key presses when in Exposé's Show Desktop mode

Maybe you're right, but this only happens when you invoke Show Desktop (F11), not any other Exposé mode. I think this is a legit bug. Afterall, what's the point of being able to input text when you can see it?

Avoid key presses when in Exposé's Show Desktop mode

No it's definitely a bug. If you invoke Exposé's all apps mode, the app you were in is still in focus as you describe (take a look at the menu bar), but keyboard input is disabled, as it should be in show desktop mode.
