Not to be an ass, but you're going to see a lot of "odd" problems like this on a case-sensitive filesystem. For better or worse, classic Mac OS was designed to be case-insensitive but case-preserving, and a lot of software will (sloppily) expect that.

Most things I've read say that your best course of action is to leave your drive formatted case insensitive, and possibly create a disk image with the case sensitive filesystem. Unless you're doing nothing but UNIX development, I'd highly recommend avoiding using case sensitive for your root filesystem.

Indeed, I incurred in this kind of problem when I tried to install Adobe Illustrator on a case-sensitive formatted hard drive with Leopard. The only solution has been to reformat the disk again as case-insensitive, and Illustrator installed OK. Similar problems I had with Neverwinter Nights, or the CS3 trial.

I second the comment on using a case-insensitive file system: I use a case sensitive file system for my Users portion of the hard disk (split in two partitions), though.
