Enable features on Microsoft keyboard and Logitech mouse
Erm, why not use the keyboard drivers delivered by Microsoft (free download) and mouse drivers such as USB Overdrive (shareware)?
I think this tip would make sense if Controller Mate would be freeware, but to buy a 15 $ app and then go a long way to configure everything seems somewhat inefficient. Maybe someone could point out what specific benefits this solution offers?

Unfortunately, for some reason USB Overdrive won't allow you to configure the search button located on the top of the Logitech MX Revolution. This is particularly frustrating as the button is in a very convenient location on the mouse.

Ah, ok, that's a drag, of course. I just checked Alessandro's USB Overdrive homepage, and it seems that he currently does a rewrite of USB Overdrive, so hopefully that issue will soon be resolved. (I am using his driver since at least five years and never had a problem. All upgrades were free… one of the most solid drivers that I know.)

For what it's worth, SteerMouse lets me customize the Search button on a Logitech VX Nano.
