Why not just right click on the Time Machine's Dock Icon and chose "Back Up Now?" (Assuming you have Time Machine in your dock; I have because it's an easy way to call it when it's needed)

some people (like me) want to have TM run at a specific time, not hourly. This command let's us script when TM runs.
