Quartz-wm no longer keeps windows from sliding under the menu bar at the top of the window.

This is a bug, which has been fixed in some of the public alphas of X11R7 that have been released since Leopard.

I second this. The new version on the wiki works very well.

There you find directions and links to install public releases for updated pieces of the X11 package. There is a lot of working ongoing here, and well worth trying a package or two. Eventually I am sure it will be available through an installer, but for now you'll have to fetch it this way.
