Unfortunately, Front Row does not automatically mount the disk image unlike the Finder. If you open an alias in the Finder and the original is in a disk image, it will mount the disk image to allow access to that original file or folder.

A step in the right direction for Front Row, and hopefully future updates allow mounting of disk images.

This didn't work for me, copying (Finder) the Video_TS file of Fawlty Towers.

Not the right kind of file.
