I actually like the new way the Workgroup and WINS servers are handled!

I use my laptop at several different customers, and have setup locations for most of them. I can now automatically switch Workgroups and WINS servers when switching locations.

PS. also note that the Workgroup won't 'stick' to some locations if you did an upgrade install, and those locations existed before the upgrade. The trick is to duplicate the old location, and enter the Workgroup info. After this you can delete the old location, and rename the new one to match the old.
