10.5: Set the default Space to something other than #1
Authored by: jbarley on Sun, Nov 4 2007 at 7:34AM PST
I found that dedicating "Finder" to any particular "Space" can lead to problems with Time Machine.
In my case I had Finder assigned to Space3, while I was in Space2 running mail, I activated TM to retrieve a message from the day before.
After several moments of activity it appeared as if the time-tunnel effect had failed, and Mail was hung on an empty Desktop with no Dock or Menu bar.
Actually TM was running in Space3, but I was locked in Space2 with no way of getting to Space3.
Solution for me was to leave Finder free to run in whatever Space you may be in.
James.
