Seems to be identical to the problem I encountered.
From what I've seen up till now, it seems to be working on iBooks, but not on the Titanium laptops !?

It worked on my G4 12"" powerbook.
But I started with a 7.1 file, which I had on my G5.
I did not need to do an update, that maybe the problem.
If you go back a step and do not do the upgrade from 7.0.1 , look at: http://www.teksanity.com/iMovie/iMovie_08_on_G4/7.0.1.html
