Or, once connected, drag the proxy icon (in the Screen Sharing's title bar) to the host's desktop.

I don't have a proxy icon (10.5.8) in the Title bar. I just have the name of the computer. When I attempt to drag the name, it just drags then Screen Sharing window.

Too bad, you're right, that proxy icon only shows on my 10.6.x Mac and not on a 10.5.x machine. Then I don't really remember how I initially created the Screen Sharing shortcuts in 10.5. I guess I did use the Bonjour Browser, long ago, and then disabled that thing afterwards.

The contents of both my existing shortcuts and the ones created by dragging the proxy icon match the property list from the hint above.
