In spite of comments that this issue has been fixed in 10.5.2, I fixed the problem in 10.5.5 using the hint given here and it worked fine for a couple of months. Today I tried Quicklook on a .pps file and once again was unable to view it although QL works fine with other file types.

Since I had already modified Office.qlgenerator, I trashed com.apple.QuickLookDaemon.plist and then issued the Terminal command "qlmanage -r" and all was well again. According to the man page, this command resets the QL server as well as all QL client's generator cache. Apparently something was amiss with the cache.
