Question on spaces in general

In the virtualscreen Spaces, how does one first see and then optionally consolidate all the windows of an application to one of the screens.

I get terminal windows open on various spaces and then lose them behind other apps. the best I've been able to figure out is to press f8 (spaces) then f9 (see all windows), this shows all windows in all spaces simultaneously. I then move them one by one. Oddly the intuitive thing of pressing f8 then f10 (to see just a single applications windows) does not seem to work analogously. F10 just overrides F8.

what I was hoping was perhaps by option clicking I could gather all the windows of an app into a single space.

is there a way to do this?

It isn't exactly what you're looking for, but you could try setting all Terminal windows to appear only on a single space, using the Spaces & Expose prefpane.
