I followed the instructions -- but all i can do is annotate using the oval tool: the pulldown menu next to the oval doesn't reveal a submenu. Did you have this problem? Is there a secret?

Hold down the mouse button over the newly created a annotate toolbar menu and the 4 types appear (oval, rectangle, note, line)

you have to click on it and hold on the mouse a second or so
