I don't understand this at all and to be quite honest I don't think this is a good idea.

I only have an org.x.startx.plist and not the plist mentioned in the hint.
It's quite possible that the plist mentioned in the hint is a leftover from ....

I have Leopard 10.5.3 with all the latest updates.
There were all sorts of issues with the Leopard X11 from the beginning.
Many of the problems have been addressed by the opensource community and discussed in the Apple X11 mailing list.
I use the X11 system from the Xquartz site:

http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/

The best one can do is to first install Leopard and any updates.
After installing these, one should (re)install the latest X11.pkg from the site mentioned above.
