The macosxhints.com real-time chat channel
Do you have a problem that you need help with right away? Want to talk OS X with other users? Just want a place to hang out amongst fellow Mac users? If so, then the macosxhints chat channel is the spot for you. You can read more about the channel in this hint.

The "chat" area of macosxhints.com uses a protocol known as Internet Relay Chat, or IRC. To access the chat, you'll need an IRC client. If you've never used IRC before, probably the easiest way to join the macosxhints' chat is to use the xhints chat application (a 659kb download). Download and install the application, double-click it, and then follow the easy instructions to get connected to the macosxhints chat.

If you're an experienced IRC user, just point your favorite client to to irc.krono.net and join #macosxhints.

I spend a bit of time there; look for me under either the 'griffman' or 'robg' moniker.
