Just in case someone wonders why the screen saver immediately closes after it starts, check your system for an activated Caffeine. The program doesn't seem to be 10.6 compatible, therefore, the one and only workaround to have the screen saver running properly is to deactivate Caffeine.

Caffeine 1.1 works fine for me on Snow Leopard. I did have issues with Quicksilver that prevented the screen saver from starting. I uninstalled QS and all works fine now.

Caffeine is working in Snow Leopard 10.6.1 for how I use it. I launch it, turn it on, watch movies, turn it off, and then quit. My menu bar is too busy to leave it up all the time.

I spoke with the dev of Caffeine two days after SL was released, due to some issues I was having with it, and he fixed Caffeine later that day to be compatible. The current version is a result of that, and works full well with Snow Leopard.

I haven't had any problems with Caffeine after the aforementioned update, either.
