There are actually several limitations to this method of synchronizing iCal with Google Calendar and other iCal calendars. Not sure if the limitations are Google's fault or iCal's fault, but there are several drawbacks.

Also, I'm not sure if the Google calendars actually sync with your iPhone or not.

In any case, BusySync seems to be the best way to currently handle syncing between multiple iCal calendars and a Google calendar. BusySync lacks all of the drawbacks that Calaboration has... and BusySync even lets you get your calendar subscriptions onto your iPhone!

Calaboration simply helps a user configure iCal to access her Google using iCal. The synching and read/write functionality has been available for a while and can you can configure iCal yourself for this access using Google's insructions here:

Took advantage of this new app yesterday. I had been looking for an iphone alternative to MobileMe (the only way to wirelessly sync iCal on the iPhone) and now with the help of an alternative Calendar app on my iPhone I have all my calendars synced, wirelessly. For those interested, I'm using the $10 iphone app SaiSuke.

Gcal is synced up with my iCal on my desktop (must be leopard) and SaiSuke on my iPhone. Using Busy Sync you have to plug in and sync your iphone with itunes. Of course MobileMe would do all this with iCal but comes with a yearly subscription fee.

I didn't see any limitations mentioned in the macworld article, just some small complaints.

If you are using iPhone 2.0+ NuevaSync could also do what you are looking for. I tried it out, but I ended up with 3 of every entry as I had BusySync and Calgoo running...

I previously had used the 'subscribe' method to my Google Calaendar's 'private ical address'.

I dropped the subscribe, and used the Calabration approach. This works well, and integrates the items within my iCal on my desktop.

My google calandars now show up in my ipod Nano calendars. I can't however get the google calendars to show on my iPod touch.

I do have an active MobileMe account, and have tried resynch all data from computer to MobileMe for calendars.

Any suggestions?
