Use Command-click in Safari Bookmarks bar folders Web Browsers
In Safari 3, you can now Command-click on a bookmark inside a folder on the bookmarks bar to open it in a new tab. In the old version, you could only do this for bookmarks at the top level of the bookmarks bar, not inside folders. If you Command-click on the folder at the top level in the bookmarks bar, it performs an Open in Tabs operation.

After checking further, it now works for any bookmarks, even in the main bookmarks menu. I'm not sure if you get this behaviour in the Safari 3 beta or just in Leopard.

[robg adds: I tested this in 10.4, and I believe it works there as well as in 10.5.]

Excellent hint! And it's working for me in Safari 2.0.4. Of course Command-Shift-click for the other behavior works as well. I will use this every day.

I don't know if it's a Safaristand feature - and therefor lost in Safari 3.
Command-click as I used daily also worked on javascript-links. It was very, very effective working with a web-portal that relied on javascript for most functionality. Safari 3 now behaves more or less like any other browser.
I've tried to get back Safari 2 on 10.4.11 with no luck so far. It was a hige time-saver and the functionality is gone now :-(

Also works: Middle button. Click the scroll wheel and it opens in a new tab behind the others. Thanks!
