Flip between full-screen Cover Flow and video in iTunes Apps
I just stumbled of a neat little feature in iTunes. I'm not sure which versions this applies to other than 7.1.1.

If you are browsing in full-screen Cover Flow mode (View » Cover Flow View, then View » Full Screen) and start watching a video (podcast, movie, music video), you can switch between full-screen Cover Flow mode and full-screen video by pressing Command-Tab, like you would to switch between applications. I ">filmed a little clip of this feature in action, if you'd like to see how it works.

[robg adds: I was quite surprised that this did indeed work -- when in full-screen mode, iTunes overrides the normal Command-Tab functionality. Perhaps this is common knowledge, but it was news to me.]

The trick is nice but perhaps you forgot (or I forgot) one thing :

When I'm browsing music in full screen Cover Flow View, I have no access to vidéos or podcasts, I'm only able to access to the albums which are displayed in the music library.

So it must be said that this hint wil work if you are browsing VIDEOS in Cover Flow mode and full screen. To say "full screen Cover Flow" is not enough.

And you'll have no access to the Source "Podcasts".

You're forgetting music videos, as well as playlists (smart or manual).

This comment in no way reflects on the hint itself (except for the fact that the feature is referred to as "neat") - it describes something I didn't know about, so that's good.

But seriously - Cmd-Tab has been the app switcher at least as far back as 10.2, except now in 10.4 iTunes in full screen coverflow it's something else?

Cmd-Spacebar has been the input method switcher at least as far back as 7.5, and in every version of OS X except in 10.4 where now it's suddenly Spotlight.

Tapping ctrl-eject brings up the shutdown dialog at least as far back as 10.2, except in 10.4.9 you have to hold down the eject key. Either that or you hold down the eject and press ctrl to get the dialog to appear right away. But Eject + option brings causes an immediate eject in any earlier OS X (the eject kicks in before the ctrl even enters the picture).

What kind of crap OS is this turning into?

Yeah, can you believe how crap it is? I went back to OS 9 when they started changing some of those key combos.

The article seems to indicate that there is a link to a movie, but the HTML seems to be borked... I can't actually see any link.
