Where to store your MacBook's IR remote during use Laptop Macs
Ever wondered where to keep your macbook IR remote so it does not get lost on your desk? Well, inspired by a similar 'feature' on the iMac, I found that you can stick the remote magnetically to the top left of the MacBook display's frame -- like this.

[robg adds: This does work as shown, based on tests with my MacBook.]]

No. This doesn't really seem to be completely intentional. The magnet it sticks to is what MacBooks use as a latch.

I really thought this was common knowledge. When the Intel iMac was first on display at the Apple Stores, that is where they were all kept, stuck to the side of the iMac.

But, looking through Apple's iMac web pages, I don't see it being displayed like that, so I guess many newer people wouldn't have a clue.

Personally I like to cross it on right side of the screen... so it looks like a bow... and make it seem like there is some kind of female presents in my life...

Do you still have the plastic wrap on the remote?

I wonder if that is meant as a remote holder, or if that is part of the magnets that keep the lid shut. Is it magnets that keep the lid shut or is there a spring in the hinge somewhere?

The magnet is not there specifically for the IR remote. The magnet keeps your lid closed. There is a magnet on the right side of the mabook also.

you shouldn't use your notebook in bed. according to apple disclaimer, macbook is not a bedtop - it can overheat itself or even burn your bed.

I know this. If I use my macbook on a bed it sits on a bit flat piece of wood.
