The fog one is interesting, I wonder why it's only that one that is animated...

That's wind, not fog. Fog isn't animated. See for yourself:

I think this widget is near useless: when I click f12 or dashboard in dock it takes 10 to 20 seconds for the weather to update, in the meantime showing me the weather from the last time I viewed dashboard, which may have been yesterday. In short, a weather app that doesn't auto-refresh in the background every once in while is a poor weather app. I imagine that setting a javascript timer would be pretty processor-intensive though.

I'm not sure why your refresh takes so long. Mine takes maybe 2 seconds at most. Are you on a broadband connection?

Thanks for the tip. Maybe I can find out what conditions other than haze cause the city's web link (normally brought up by clicking the city name) to be totally disabled. I'm seriously considering hacking the haze.png file in the widget bundle to remove the obstruction.
