This was in 10.3? What the hell? I never knew this existed! Awesome!
I've been using the KDX app "xyzzy" for quite some time. It produces pronouncable passwords with numbers. This seems a bit better though.

The Password Assistant did exist in 10.3 (at least) -- it was just a pain to find it (see this hint). Besides being easier to invoke, the new version seems to have a few more options.

Following the link to the hint about the 10.3 password analyzer, I was surprised how many people were bragging about their root password being oh-so-much-more secure then their regular user (admin I suppose) password.

I wanted to warn everybody, that the admin account (AA) password in Mac OS X is much more critical then the root password. With AA password, you can easily do anything root can - including changing the root password. But moreover, with AA, you can log-in remotely via SSH (if it's enabled in Sharing) - which you cannot do with root. Generally, root is much better protected against remote (mis)use...

There is also a "Manual" type that will let you test the strength of your current passwords by the same criteria used in gauging the strength of the generated passwords.

Whenever I try it in Keychain, it doesn't do anything. It worked great in Panther.
