Show Safari's keyboard shortcut list Web Browsers
Safari contains a number of new-and-existing keyboard commands. To see the entire list, click the Safari icon and choose "Show Package Contents." In the new window that opens, navigate to Contents -> Resources -> English.lproj -> Shortcuts.html. Nothing earth shattering. Enjoy!

[Editor's note: Wow, I wish all apps were required to have this file in their bundle! It would save everyone a fair bit of searching. Also, make sure you check out the Safari Help pages if you haven't done so already; they're quite complete, although there are fewer shortcuts listed in the Help than there are in this HTML document.]

point Safari to file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Shortcuts.html. I've bookmarked this in the bookmark bar for easy access.

Nice trick, thanks. And playing around I found that you can also view your installed plugins by going to file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Plugins.html

What's really cool is that explanations are offered. We get to know why certain combos are chosed. I really like to know that. For instance, Cmd-"," is becoming the OSX standard for bringing up the Prefs. Nice!

How about for switching between windows?

Because Safari doesn't have tabs, I'm getting windows proliferating all over the place -- anyone know a keyboard-based approach for switching between them?

It's not actually TextEdit, it's just a text-displaying window in Safari. I don't know why it says TextEdit.

I see Cmd-Opt-/ is Open Page Load Test Window in the Debug menu. Anybody know how to activate this Debug menu, or did they take it out for the Public Beta (rather than hiding it) ?

Here's my post on a different forum detailing how to activate the debug menu and what's in it.

It helps to know that you can also use cmd shift ~ to cycle backwards.

This lack of window placement in Safari is bugging me..

Cmd `

That's the button next to the 1. That's the OS X standard, and it works in Safari.

Weird rdar:// URL
Authored by: k2r on Tue, Jan 14 2003 at 1:55PM PST
Hi, while reading the explanations for the shortcuts I found the hyperlink to
rdar://Problem/3101473%22
it's in the explanation to

" Cmd-Shift-D add bookmark to menu This is currently a hidden command, but see radar 3101473"

Does anybody know what protocol rdar specifies or is this something new by Apple that we will be presented in Steve's next keynote?

Apple's internal bug tracking system is called RADAR. I imagine they have it defined to open the RADAR system ... further proof that this really is a beta :-).

In my Safari v125, this shortcuts file does not appear in the same place, but I found it in Safari>Contents>Resources.
