glTerm is a replacement terminal program for OS X. Why would you want to replace your terminal program? One word - speed. glTerm flies. With full OpenGL acceleration, text rendering and window scrolling speeds are incredibly fast.

What do you give up? The "looks amazingly cool" ability to have semi-transparent terminal windows. But that's about it. In all other respects, glTerm is a full-featured Terminal replacement.

If speed is high on your list of requirements for a terminal program, check out glTerm!

GLTerm is indeed a great terminal, one of the best I've used. However I've had to contact the author for support on some annoying bits but he is very unresponsive.

Infact as of a month ago he is completely not responding to anything, not only is he not prepared to support this application any requests for refunds falls on dead ears, I'd be happy to pay 3 times the asking price for this application if it had support, without support it's just not worth the effort. Support being one of the main reasons people are prepared to pay for applications once features are out of the way.

Also note that Tiger's terminal is much faster than before so it addresses some of the reason that GLTerm exist, Terminal.app still lacks copy-on-select though which is a major missing feature for me :(
