Not sure if its iTunes3 or 10.2, but in iTunes if you are in browse mode with all four panes (genre - artist - album - library) and you have a scrollwheel mouse, you can hover over the pane you want and just scroll away to your hearts content! AWESOME!

[Editor's note: This also works when just two panes are onscreen. I could not find a way to scroll with the keyboard, however, so it looks like a scrollwheel mouse is required.]

OS X, from at least 10.1, but probably earlier, has built-in support for two mouse buttons and a scroll wheel. The scroll wheel support is based on hover focus; that is, the scroll wheel will scroll whatever window/frame/pane/whatever that the cursor is over. I have not yet found a Cocoa or Carbon program in which this does not work (but it doesn't appear to work in Classic unless you have Mouseworks or USB Overdrive or such installed).

Terminal is a rare exception; you have to bring a window to the front to scroll it with a scroll wheel. Sigh.

Hover/scroll mouse works in finder, too!

I noticed this quite by accident, but if you have the new 'column' mode of looking at files open in the finder, and two of the panels have long lists in them, you can choose which will scroll when you scroll the mouse by 'hovering' over that column. This is VERY useful for me.
